Syngenta receives approval for MZIR260 corn trait resistant to Spodoptera

Syngenta Seeds has received the green light from CTNBio to commercialize its new corn trait MZIR260, engineered to provide resistance to Spodoptera, one of the most damaging pests for corn production in Brazil.

With this approval, Brazilian growers will gain access to an advanced biotech tool that helps reduce field losses, strengthen integrated pest management, and support more sustainable and efficient farming practices.

According to AgroPages, this new transgenic event expands Syngenta’s technology portfolio and underscores the importance of innovations that combine productivity, safety, and environmental responsibility.
